ABOUT Laura Lichter

Spunky Rose opened in 2021. The concept for the shop started with the idea of having a place for me to showcase my many different kinds of creations after years of selling at Farmer's Markets, Art Shows and online. Knowing how difficult it is to find outlets for showcasing art, Spunky Rose is a place for other artists to showcase their work and help promote and support one another.
We have a large selection of local handmade artisan gifts made by myself (Laura) and other local artists. This includes photography, paintings, clothing, housewares, jewelry and much more. There is an assortment of vintage and second hand goods, including vintage sewing supplies (trim, lace, applique, buttons and embellishments).
Spunky Rose offers workshops on how to create and make different projects, as well as services such as refurbishing furniture and custom made artwork. I want to help empower and inspire other women and young girls in using resources and power tools to build beautiful works of art by thinking outside the box and pushing their imaginations.
Spunky Rose is not just about me selling my artwork, but it is also about helping give other artists a place to create and sell their work. It is about showing people what they are capable of with a little inspiration and determination.
Laura received her BA in Art and Photography at Cal State Northridge in 2006. She has been interested in photography since the age of 7, so starting a business in photography came naturally. Her enthusiasm and people skills have helped her to capture those that do not care to be caught. She has a way with making people feel comfortable in front of the camera, in turn creating a beautiful portrait. While taking night classes at Art Center in Pasadena to feed her creativity, Laura did several projects working with the local fire stations and stumbled across a new niche. Since the start of Precious Pix Photography in January of 2010, Laura has worked with thousands of firefighter’s nationwide. Laura has also worked with local Law Enforcement and volunteered at dozens of LAFD fundraisers. Several of her images have been published in the local Fire and Law Enforcement magazines.
